Inspired by true events, Stephen Johnson’s Aussie Western tells the story of Gutjuk (Jacob Junior Nayinggul), a young Indigenous man orphaned in childhood who is recruited by former soldier Travis (Simon Baker) to track down Baywara – his uncle – the most dangerous warrior in the Territory.
Shot in Kakadu Park and Arnhem Land, the film was produced by Maggie Miles, Yothu Yindi co-founder Witiyana Marika, Johnson, David Jowsey and Greer Simpkin.
